Celebrities, People and Scuba Divers
Carl Roessler is a legend with people who travel around the world with liveaboard diving adventures. What I personally remember about Carl is after we spent a couple of hours photographing great white sharks in the cages, he came up to me and said "welcome to the NFL, Steve".
Personally, this meant a lot to me because I have always held Carl in high esteem and I felt that I had graduated to the highest level of ocean interaction with the great white sharks, instead of photographing small reef fish and beautiful coral heads. Another thing Carl does, which makes me nervous sometimes, is kneeling down in the cage and opening up the side of the cage to get the perfect photograph of Jaws up close. The scary part was that he had to close the cage door on Jaw's nose several times. Good thing Carl has quick reflexes!

Carl Roessler was the founder of the liveboard diving service called See & Sea Travel Inc. back in the 1960's. Now Carl works personally from his own website out of Las Vegas, WorldWide with Carl Roessler , which features shark photos from around the world, upcoming dive trips worldwide, weather reports, photo tips, slide shows from the Great Barrier Reef, available books by Carl and much more. Carl Roessler is not only as smart as a whip, but he is also in excellent physical condition. He has been going on Rodney Fox's great white shark expedition every year annually since 1975. Last year, on the great white shark expedition, Carl told me he was 66 years of age. Personally, I think he's in better shape than most people of 40.
